In this changing world, those who understand and can do mathematics will have significantly enhanced opportunities and options for shaping their futures. Mathematical competence opens doors to productive futures. A lack of mathematical competence keeps those doors closed. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) challenges the notion that mathematics is for only the select few.

The materials, tools and demonstrations presented in this E-Book would be very useful for advanced-placement (AP) statistics educational curriculum. The E-Book is initially developed by the UCLA Statistics Online Computational Resource (SOCR). However, all statistics instructors, researchers and educators are encouraged to contribute to this project and improve the content of these learning materials.
There are 4 novel features of this specific Statistics EBook. It is community-built, completely open-access (in terms of use and contributions), blends information technology, scientific techniques and modern pedagogical concepts, and is multilingual.

This site provides lessons and other resources related to the grade 1 math curriculum for the San Francisco Unified School District.

In Grade 1, instructional time should focus on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of addition, subtraction, and strategies for addition and subtraction within 20; (2) developing understanding of whole number relationships and place value, including grouping in tens and ones; (3) developing understanding of linear measurement and measuring lengths as iterating length units; and (4) reasoning about attributes of, and composing and decomposing geometric shapes.

An interactive applet and associated web page that demonstrate the exterior angles of a triangle. The applet shows a triangle where the user can drag any vertex to reshape it. The exterior angles are shown and a running calculation shows that no matter how you change the triangle, the exterior angles always add up to 360 degrees An exterior angle is equal to the sum of the opposite interior angles Applet can be enlarged to full screen size for use with a classroom projector.
