Learning Domain: Operations and Algebraic Thinking
Standard: Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).

CCSS.Math.Content.1.OAC..6: Strong (2)
Series of games that help students practice adding and subtracting within 21
Website provides a variety of ideas for students to engage in following standards 2.OA.B.2 and 1.OA.C.6 in a fun and interactive way. Site shares a variety of games that students can play to practice adding and subtracting simple addition facts.
Strengths:
Activities are designed as games to practice CCSS math standards. Games are very engaging and fun which may motivate students to learn and remember. Teacher will have to link game to learning for students to understand the connections with the games they play to concepts that they are learning or practicing.
Materials are provided in PDF files
Limitations:
Provides variations to some games but does not share how to differentiate to address all learners.
These activities are great practices for CCSS 1.OA.6 and CCSS 2.OA.2. These games are all designed to build fluency. The students are having fun and learning too! Good station activities.
