This resource is meant to be used as a program for Grade 1 with the goal of having students acquire language through building vocabulary specifically in science and history. There is alignment to CCSS Reading Literature, Reading Informational Text, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language Standards. A strength of this resource is in its explanations, and materials provided. Some considerations upon implementation would be that this is meant to be a program so when using as a supplement teachers will need to use professional judgement to decide if the skills taught would be reinforcing the instruction that they have provided using their primary materials.
