Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity (BranchED) is the only non-profit organization in the country dedicated to strengthening, growing, and amplifying the impact of educator preparation at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), with the longer-range goals of both diversifying the teaching profession and intentionally addressing critical issues of educational equity for all students.
Our vision is for all students to have access to diverse, highly effective educators.
To access the full array of Open Access resources from BranchED go to: https://resources.educatordiversity.org. This online collection includes open access resources to support teacher educators and educator preparation programs as well as PK-12 teachers and leaders as they prepare the next generation of our nation’s teacher workforce. You can view resources by topics, types, and audiences.
In November of 2019, we conducted focus groups with faculty and leadership of educator preparation programs at MSIs across the nation, and we learned that teacher educators at MSIs want Open Educational Resources (OER) that are not only high quality, collaborative, current, and practice-based, but that also center diverse perspectives and model OER use for teacher candidates to use in their own practice.
